I came across Cameron Herold from his TED Talk "Let's raise kids to be entrepreneurs" and instantly knew I had found an innovator. I purchased "Double Double" with a vision for my business as it was just taking off, and was so thankful I did. I was given a vision on how to "Double" my business which is exactly what I was looking for. Once my business was running, my first question was "how can I expand and increase my revenue?" The answers were all within this book. I learned how to become clear with my vision or painted picture, to double my revenue and the mindset needed to accomplish this. It was the perfect book to read as I had a map of the world in front of me, an action plan to expand and Cameron's book as a guide. If his book is this good, I can only imagine his coaching programs would follow suit. A must read for any serious entrepreneur.

I brought this book because I heard Cameron on a webinar. It was discussing the painted picture. His story and his ideas really connected with me. So I quickly purchased the book and started reading it. I was hooked- I got out paper and pencil and started jotting down a few ideas. On my way to work - I would often picture my future business- so I would again jot down a few ideas. This book has really sparked something in me. I have shared my experience with others, and told them about the contents of the book and they too have purchased the book.

This book has inspired me to change my home office around to reflect my painted picture (working backwards - you will totally understand once you've purchased the book).

Although the author references a lot of big companies, is steps can easily be implemented into a small business.
Love this book. It lays out the exact blue print on how you need to be lay out your plans for the future and then reverse engineer your how. It's a step that a lot of entrepreneurs don't think through and I strongly believe that everyone needs to read this and follow the blueprint if you're the founder of a company. Cameron's done a great job.
Double Double isn't just another business book from an analyst. Cameron has spent the last 20 years running companies, including 1-800-GOT-JUNK! where as COO he helped grow the company from $2 million to $105 million in just six years.

Unlike all those business bestsellers that are filled with theories and projections, Double Double is filled with practical, actionable advice. It's a recipe book for building a world-class company. The goal of the book, according to Herold, is to teach you how to double your business in just three years (which amounts to just under 30% annual growth).

I was so inspired after reading the book I immediately got a fresh notebook out and started brainstorming ideas for my company.

Double Double is an excellent road map for growing your company. Even if you have been running companies for more than ten years like me, you will learn something from reading this book.
Double Double is one of my favorite books among all business books I read. I love the author Cameron's idea of having a 3 years plan. For people who work for a corporation or in business, the very question they ask themselves every year end is - what is our 5 or 10 years plan. For me I agree with Double Double's 3 years plan. 3 years plan is not too long and not too short, very measurable. Throughout the book, Cameron also shared the importance of having a "vision picture" or "painted picture" and why we should forget the "how" first when we plan and dream for the "painted picture".

After reading the book, readers learn
- how to write a vision picture
- what and how you should foresee, plan, handle and manage a number of aspects (hiring, communication, meetings, marketings, PR, Leverage Technology etc during the fast growth period
- How you should handle when grows turn slow
- Why and how to focus on leadership

I wish I have read this book years ago when I first started a partnership with a good friend. It hasn't been a very successful one. I believe the main reason is that me being the PIC of the company haven't shared clearly the vision, direction and path of the company. I also fail to develop a good culture. In this book, I learn success of a company comes when everyone share the same vision and same goal - like all in the same ship but not having a scattered mind.

A good read for entrepreneurs and start-ups. The more partners/staff you have in the company, the more useful you will find this book.
I am a small business and this book is very helpful. Writing your vision is critical to developing your strategy and plans for moving forward. This process takes it away from just a mental exercise and makes it a heart exercise. That is to say, you find your deep seated motivation for what you want to do and where you want to be. Writing your vision can be a stepping stone for writing a business plan, if you need a business plan for financing. Writing your vision get you connected to your "why" at a visceral level. If we don't fully know and understand why we are doing what we are doing then we can easily get sidetracked. By writing your vision you are clearly able to see your goal, and plan the steps you will take to accomplish your dream.
I first read this book in 2011. After reading it, I applied the principles from each chapter throughout my business. Fast forward to 2014, WE DOUBLED! The stories and real life examples in this book put into perspective how these principles are applied. This is a great book that explains the proper systems and practices to put into place that will allow you to Double your business. Without a lot of the practices in place from this business moving forward at a fast rate would be very difficult and unorganized.

I recommend this book to any business owner, CEO or employees of organizations looking to grow. The information holds true whether going from $200k to $400k growth or $2 Million to $4 Million growth.
